Event Volunteer Roles

We have a number of volunteer roles, with duties both before, during, and after Meal-Morial Madness weekend. For all volunteer roles, please fill out the Contact and Bio Form and Event Volunteer Form.

Programming Roles

These are volunteer roles that involve presenting on stream during the event or working behind the scenes to keep the stream running. All programming roles require volunteers to be onsite at the event venue.

Game Player

Game players play video games live during the stream and appear on camera and on mic. You can play a game solo, with a friend, or participate in a multiplayer game. In addition to the forms for all volunteers, please fill out the Game Submission Form or Multiplayer Submission Form if you would like to play specific games.

Game Commentator

Game commentators talk about the game and chat with the players during game play. Commentary can include play-by-play, game trivia and more. Commentator is an on camera and on mic role and is not required for all games.

Game Host

Game hosts engage with the stream audience during and between games, including reading donations aloud on stream, moderating Twitch chat, and introducing players and commentators. Game hosts appear on mic but are not on camera.

Segment Host

Segment hosts are the on camera talent for morning, noon and evening studio shows. Segment hosts banter with each other, recap previous games, tease upcoming games, share raffle prize information, and more. Get creative and let out your inner theater kid!

Tech Team

Tech team members help run stream technology during the event. Their duties include turning mics on and off, selecting camera views, setting up game consoles and controllers, and monitoring the stream status. Tech team members may appear on screen during setup and are not on mic. Hands on training is provided for all tech team volunteers.

Special Event Presenter

If your stream idea takes you off the couch, you might be a Special Event Presenter! Special Events could include non video game activities, such as music or crafting, or games with complex studio setup requirements, such as Dance Dance Revolution. Special event presenters are on camera and on mic.

Support Roles

These are volunteer roles that support event operations, but do not require participation in the livestream during the event, and may or may not require volunteers to be onsite. Most support roles have duties before the event, and some have duties after.

Social Media Team

The social media team creates and posts content for MMM social media channels, including images, short videos, and text. Social media promotion will begin prior to the event and increase in frequency during the event. Social media team members may participate remotely.

Website Team

Website team members write website content and update pages on the 4Score7Pongs website and the Meal-Morial Madness event page on Tiltify before, during, and after the event. Website team members may participate remotely.

Wellness Team

The wellness team makes sure that all on-site volunteers during the event are well-fed and hydrated, and have chances to rest and relax. Wellness team duties include preparing and serving meals and snacks, washing dishes, and cleaning the kitchen and dining areas.

Talent Coordination

Talent coordinators work with our game hosts, commentators, and players to ensure they are ready for the event and answer any questions that may arise.

Prize Coordination

Prize coordinators work to secure new prizes before the event, taking photos, setting donation amounts for eligibility, and ship prizes to raffle winners after the event ends.
